Happy 4th of July!

Mommy, Annie, and Cat-Brother Mylo made patriotic cuppy-cakes for the Fourth. (Annie can hardly wait 'til she's a big girl and can actually eat cupcakes).

We spent the holiday hanging out as a family, having a BBQ and swim with our neighbors, and then watching the fireworks pool-side from our backyard after Annie went to bed.

Even thought it was a great Fourth, we really missed our Minnesota Family that day... We look forward to seeing all of you in a few weeks! Annie is getting excited for all the hugs and kisses!

Mommy put together Annie's "space-saver" highchair and now Annie can help out in the kitchen. She is already practicing feeding herself!

July 1, 2008 - 3 Month Birthday

Annie turned 3 months old on July 1st! Mommy and Annie celebrated by going to "Mommy and Baby" yoga class. We were so relaxed from our class that we decided to take a nap on Mommy and Daddy's bed. So sweet!

She really is a sweet baby! She smiles all the time and loves to be social and interact with Mom and Dad and anyone who will listen to her cute baby babbling. She is growing so well, too. As you can see in the picture, she is getting pudgy little thighs and big soft cheeks. (She is about 24 inches long and weighs about 14 pounds).

Update!

Hi All! All of the pic's before this post are actually from June... we just got a little behind on updates! Enjoy the new posts- after this they are all up-to-date! Love, Mysea

Bonding With Baby

Annie and Mommy have a special bond, which may not come as a surprise, but it sure is sweet nonetheless. When she looks at Mommy, gazing in her warm, brown eyes, you can tell, Annie knows she's loved...and cared for. It really is amazing; this little girl, less than 100 days out of the womb, is already assured her parents will do anything for her. I'm by no means a professional, but I think it's because Annie gets a daily shower of love and affection. I, for one, can't stop smooching her puffy little cheeks. Oh, and she smiles all the time. Again, because her world is filled to the brim with assurance.
This might sound like I'm tooting our collective horn here, but really, I'm not. I'm just that confident that Mysea and I do this one thing really well. Of course, Annie is incredibly easy to love. She's got such a content disposition; much like her daddy when he was her age! And she's cute as a button (no doubt taking after her mommy).
When taking this all in, I can't help but let my thoughts move to the relationship between all of us and our Father in heaven. To think His love for us far surpasses that which we could ever feel or show Annie Isabel is literally inconceivable. But that doesn't mean we don't like to try.
As I type Momma is playing with Annie. They're counting to 100 (Annie's squealing with delight; Daddy's smiling with his soul) and doing some baby yoga moves; talk about heartwarming entertainment.

Side Sleeping

Annie likes to roll onto her side and stretch her head way back for a good night's rest. She is almost "sleeping through the night" now. Annie usually goes to bed around 8:00 pm and will wake up for a late-night snack around 10 or 11, then she will sleep a good four or five hours until 2 or 3 and eat again, which holds her over 'til morning (5 am). :0) So ALMOST sleeping through the night, right???

Playdate!

Annie had fun on a visit to her friend Noah's house. Annie talked a lot and they enjoyed watching the ceiling fan together. Lots of fun!

Field Trip!!

Mommy and Annie took a "field trip" to PetsMart to look at some fishies, birdies, hamsters and even some kitties! Annie loved the birds and fish the best! Mom wanted to adopt a 4 year old orange tabby, but figured jealous Cat-Brother Mylo would prefer some dried salmon instead.

My First Barrette!

Annie let Mommy style her hair! We both laughed about how cute she was... until the barrette fell out and pulled at her hair. We will wait for the second barrette-hairstyle for a little while longer!

Responsibility- Annie at 2 Months

Mommy teaches Little Annie about "responsibility." Annie (with Mom's help) does a "Paci Round-Up" to bring all the pacifiers to the sink for Daddy to wash. Annie loves grasping little toys and holding Mommy and Daddy's clothing when we hold her!
