Nesting - Part 1

I have been doing a lot of nesting this time around... Pretty sure that it has to do with being in a new house that we moved into when I was about 4 months pregnant. I have pretty much been nesting since then! One of the first major 'nesting' projects was to move Annie's crib out of her room and replace it with a big girl bed and dresser. After that was all set up we decided to move the guest room down the hall to allow the baby's room to be closer to Annie's room. Finally, Ben painted the old guest room (well, it was only a guest room for 2 months!) baby blue and set up Annie's old crib in brother's room! This was only the beginning of my nesting urges, which have lead to many hours spent cleaning, organizing, shopping, setting up and other 'projecting' around the house. Ben has gotten to do lots of nesting, too-- mostly projects that have been 'assigned' to him by me, but he does them all with a great attitude!! I have even enlisted the help of my Mom (all the way from MN!) and my Dad, who has helped with some of the more major projects. Stay tuned for more posts and pictures of nesting projects!

Baby Shower for Baby Boy

My great friend Stefanie hosted a baby shower for our baby boy this last weekend. It was held at our home, but she and her wonderful mom brought everything with them and spent lots of time setting up before and cleaning up after, impressing me with their kindness! They brought delicious food and goodies and some fun activities along, including baby onesie decorating. Annie really enjoyed designing some fun onesies for her brother!!

Too Many Undies

Annie was being awfully quiet in her room the other day while I was folding laundry in the loft-- I went to check on her and this is what I found. She had taken off her clothes and put on all of the undies from her dresser along with her monkey backpack/harness. This is a funny little thing that she likes to do every once in a while. She layers up all the underwear she can find and tells us 'it's gonna be super funny' and that she is wearing 'too many undies'-- so silly! She had also found a gift bag in brother's room and filled it with 'gifts' for me! Love this silly little girl!!

Halloween Trick-or-Treating

We had some friends meet at our house for trick-or-treating with Annie this year. It was a great time to see all the little toddlers roam the neighborhood together-- little munchkins all dressed up!! It was our first Halloween in the new neighborhood and it turned out better than we thought- almost every neighbor on our block handed out candy or left a bowl on their porch. We didn't have to walk far to fill the kid's little buckets!

Marley Park Boo Bash

Annie and I dressed up as kitty cats for our neighborhood Halloween party- the Marley Park Boo Bash. It was a family oriented carnival style party held at our Heritage Clubhouse that included games, a few small rides, and even a DJ and dance floor. Annie spent most of the night hula hooping on the dance floor- go kitty, go!

Pumpkin Time

Annie and Ezzy Bear pose on our front porch by the pumpkins she painted at a friend's grandparent's house this fall. She even got to pick the pumpkins herself out of their own personal pumpkin patch and pull them from the vine!!

Annie 'helps' Daddy carve a jack-o-lantern in a pumpkin at a friend's pumpkin party. Annie told Daddy the shapes she wanted for the eyes, nose, and mouth-- mostly just triangles, which made it pretty easy for Daddy!

Annie shows me her spider cupcake while at the party-- she decided it looked too 'gross' to eat and asked for a brownie instead!!

GCU Fall Festival

Our Halloween weekend started on a Thursday this year with the annual Fall Festival at Grand Canyon University. Annie and I met Daddy there after he got done with work and headed out to the lawn to play games and eat yummy food. Annie's favorite game was a basketball toss that she won a little blue bear at-- she named the bear 'Ezzy Bear' like her brother's name! She is hugging Ezzy Bear in the second picture while participating in the cake walk. Annie also tried fry bread for the first time and loved it! It was fun night out and Ben always enjoys showing Annie off to his coworkers!
